It's time for a little tough love. It’s summer, we get that. But, before that it, was June, and oh, June is such a busy time of year, and then it was May… and spring is a busy time… and then it was winter and you didn’t feel up to it.
When is the right time? Is there a right time for anything? Your fitness and your health are just like everything else... you get what you put in. If you want to see your goals met its time to level up!! At the start of all our clients journeys with Lift.Move.Fuel. we ask them “What are you willing to sacrifice to achieve your goals?” We get all sorts of answers from wine, to chocolate, to chips to whatever their guilty pleasure is. As we continue to grow and develop as trainers, it might be time to reword this question.... “Are you willing to sacrifice time?” ‘Cuz that’s what it’s going to take! Time to prep your food. Time to contemplate your decisions [insert your guilty pleasure here]. And then there's making time for your workouts. That being said, it's not a lot of time, about 4 hours a week, of that, two to three hours of training and one hour for meal prep. (I don’t include grocery shopping in this time, because we all have to do it whether it’s clean or not). We live in a society where, when we are asked to do something, our response has automatically become "I'm too busy", which in our opinion is the same as saying it's not a priority for you. OK - that's fair. Everyone has different priorities, but what if we were to ask this: "Is the junk you're putting into your body and your 8-hour/day desk job that's slowly killing you a priority for you?" -- It's extreme, but for a lot of the world, it's the truth. Let’s nerd it up a bit, we secretly love math. There are 168 hours in a 7-day week. If we give up four hours for our health, that's 2% of your week to be devoted to your goals. Add up how many times you check Facebook, Instagram, Snap Chat, how many minutes do you day dream about what it would be like if you accomplished [insert goal or dream life here], or the time spent complaining to your friend about not accomplishing it. And then, there’s the favourite TV shows each week. Could any of this time be shaved off and put towards you? We’re not trying to guilt you. We honestly just want to help you switch your perspective. If you stop thinking about giving it 100% and start think about giving 2% how does that change your mindset? Instead of telling you that your goals are 80% nutrition and switched it, to good nutrition will take up 1% of your week. Does that make it easier? At LMF, every last one of our clients are capable of greatness. We know this, because we know them. We want you to see it, because you are capable of success. Change your mindset. It’s 2%!
